Would I be able to recieve a free messaging phone if my mom purchases a smartphone?

My mom is getting an iphone. Right now, at&t has a deal running where if you buy a smartphone, you get a free messaging phone. I was wondering if I would be able to get the free messaging phone, even though I recently recieved an upgrade about 6 months ago.
