Would you buy a PS3 if it didn't have blue-ray?

Yes. The PS3 is a dedicated video gaming system, which means it's main purpose is to play video games. There are numerous other perks, of course, one of which is the all-in-one media center covering music, movies, and pictures. If there was no such thing as blu-ray movies, for example, I would say the PS3 is still worth it (especially at today's price). The fact that it has a built in blu-ray player makes it that more worthwhile. I hardly use the system to watch blu-ray movies (the DVD upscaler is good on it's own), which is just a small portion of what the PS3 has to offer.

Probably, though I am pretty happy it does have blu-ray.

Mother of Christ, are you people really that daft? You DO realize that a PS3 without blu-ray functionality is near useless, don't you? HERP DE DERP I NO USE BLEW REI! What do you think the games are on, moron?

Probably not, Id prolly get an xbox because they have almost the same games anyway.

Bluray is always a sic bonus

yes, because the only reason i bought a ps3 was to play games. As long as the graphics were better than ps2 i would have been just fine. The web browser was a plus to because i didn't own a computer back then.
