Would You Read A Story About Domestic Abuse?

That's not the whole novel, but there is a large part of it that is about DA. I know people love to read books as an escape but the more i read the real life DA entries from real victims, the more darker i think my character should be.
She does leave him in the end, i just wondered what your thoughts were.
