I've written a decent and definitely entertaining novel, Stephen Kingish in the way it reads. In fact, its a horror fiction involving today's music scene, and yes, I've already copyrighted it. This is my first novel and I know next to nothing about getting work published. Are there any experienced published writers out there who could point me in the right direction? ... Be much appreciated.

no one becomes big instantaneously. try smaller publishers initially.

"and yes, I've already copyrighted it."

Best keep quiet about that. No publisher is going to be remotely impressed by "hi, I think you're so unprofessional I don't trust you not to steal my book", or indeed "hi, this is my completed book, it doesn't need any edits."

Have you had it critiqued yet? If not, go join a critique site such as www.critiquecircle.com and look at putting in through the queues there. Your first draft will not be ready for publication. _Don't_ be tempted to send it off just in case it is - once a publisher or agent has said no, they almost certainly won't be prepared to look at an improved version.
