yes my old drive had yellow wires welded onto it the old drive blew up from over use i think :D and yep i see it says philips & lite-on digital

i have no idea how to get the key from the old drive and how to paste it to my new drive... do i need any hardware to do this or is it just software i need?

You MUST have the DVD drive key and the new drive MUST be the same make as the old one.

Look at the wire colours of your old drive, if the wires are yellow you have a LiteON drive.
How did your old drive blow up?
