xbox 360 red ring help repairing?

ive tryed looking up videos on how to repair xbox rrod. so right now ive removed my xclamp and replaced it with screws but they say to overheat the xbox but keep the cpu and the dvd drive cool. they told me to leave your xbox on with three red rings for 10-15 minutes and then cool it for 20minutes. but after a few seconds my xbox goes 2 rings and shuts down. not sure what to do next.
 
Have you tried calling Microsoft and having it replaced? They replaced my son's for free. Good luck.
