XviD T.V series onto DVD?

I have a series of "The Real Hustle" on computer stored in XviD format, how do I make sure that the DVD player will play the XviD files without having to do anything (except maybe click "OK") on a plain DVD player connected to a T.V [so no computer] (just as if it was a feature length film for instance).

There are programs that will create DVDs that will play on regular home DVD players. There's Nero and ConvertXtoDVD but they're not free. One that is free is Sothink DVD Movie Maker and Windows 7 DVD Movie Maker.
