Yamaha FZ6R a better choice over a Yamaha R6 as beginner bike?

i was thinking about the Yamaha WR250R dual sport bike until i came along to the FZ6R. a dual sport won't be able to take the high speeds for an extended amount of time compared to a street bike. im thinking the FZ6R over the R6 because of the handlebar position so you don't have to lean over forward so far like on the R6. I have plenty of experience on dirt bikes so a 600 street bike should be no problem.
FZ6R is almost $3,000 cheaper than the R6 too
