Yamaha R6 Starter Bike?

I am looking to get into driving motorcycles. I was wondering if the R6 or a CBR600 would be a good starter bike, i don't have any experience with motorcycles, besides driving miniature motorcycles, if that even counts. Just going to say now, I am not looking to speed, just want something different. I am 5'10 and weigh about 150 or so. I can drive manual cars, and I am planning on taking the motorcycle class before deciding to purchase and drive around a motorcycle. I would say i am a safe driver. Thank You, and please no dogging on me because i asked this question, I really don't want to read comments about how stupid i am for thinking about an r6 or cbr600. I am just doing a little research into what to get since
 
i have an 05 r6 and it is a reliable bike. but dont do a wheelie pulling outta work, you could drop it like i did...
 
Sportbikes don't make good begginers bikes. Take a look at the Suzuki s40 boulivard. It is about a thousand dollars cheaper than the R6 and it is a cruiser. The safest bikes on the road are Cruisers, Standard, and Dual Sport. Probably because these bikes have engines that have a lot of low end power. The r6 has way less low end power than the Suzuki boulivard s40. But, the Suzuki s40 gives you predictable power and can deal with sloppy shifting. The R6 demands your attention to rpm's and throttle position. You are not stupid for asking and if you do your homework you will find that the r6 is responsible for a surprising number of beginner deaths. Also, go to progressive.com and do a rate check on both bikes. You might be surprised also how much more it costs to get insurance on the R6.
