how can I get a verizon lg chocolate to work w/ att?

I have a choclate and want to use it with att.do I have to get att to unlock it?

All of Verizon's phones, including the Chocolate do not require a sim card, and all of AT&T's phones DO require a sim card, so I dont think you can use your chocolate with AT&T
