I would love to try some new vegetarian recipes, but most of what I am finding has bell peppers as a main ingredient, and I cannot stand them!

Im making chicken and steak fajitias. I dont want to thinly slice them before grilling like most recipes call for. Can i leave the peppers whole or havled and grill them?

I bought red ones for my salad and I have no clue if they are fresh. Like, how do you tell? I kept them on the counter for a day, cut them, and I have never done this before so I want to know before I eat. They are a bit firm, a bit tender just like a fresh, read-to-eat tomato.
