Is the transmission in a 2005 impala with a 3.4 v6 a sealed unit? or can the fluid be changed?

There is no spring,just a bolt to hold it on,2 or 4 wheel drive is the difference shape of the filter.Just remove the pan,unbolt the filter,nothing to it.
