My harmonic balancer was sticking out about 1/4 in. from where it should be. After I pulled it. (ITS BROKEN) I noticed that the crank shaft seal on the timing cove is almost a 1/4 in out of the cover. Is it supposed to be flush with the timing cover ? can I just set it back in with a piece of 1 1/2 " pipe. and couold this be why my balancer went out on me ? It wasn't leaking when I pulled the balancer. And could it have just slid out a little as I was pulling out the balancer ? Thanks
