Hey everyone,

I've recently had a look at both of these cars from two different sellers. They both have good mileage and asking price is within my budget but problem is that I'm having difficulty deciding on which car to buy. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm more concerned about reliability and which one would have more mechanical problems.

With cars of this age the more important factor is maintenance and/or accident history. You never want to buy a car that has had a previous accident, especially to the front end or suspension. The easiest way to tell is by looking at the paint job. If it looks the same all the way around but one panel is foggy or brighter or a different shade of the color that is a good indicator that the car has been painted and thus been in an accident. Another way to tell is to feel the seams of the sheet metal. Rough edges usually indicate a paint job other than the original factory paint, which is also a sign of an accident. You can always run a CarFax or AutoCheck report but they will not always tell teh difference. Both of the cars you are considering are quality vehicles but its importatnt that they have been well maintained. Make sure you have a reputable mechanic inspect your final decision on your behalf before you sign the purchase order. Best of luck.

I'd say go with the Honda civic. My boyfriend has a Volkswagen and it is such a horrible car,but that's my own opinion.I'm speaking out of past views,Honda's are more reliable.
