...older 2 cats? I've ALWAYS wanted a dog, but have always had cats. A friend was having to move and didn't want to take her pup to the pound, so I said "sure I'll take her". Now i'm a little scared. My 2 cats (linkin and girlie) one is about 10 and the other is 8, have been in hiding for the past 2 days. About how long until they warm up to each other? The first day I got the pup, i kept her in the big cage with her pillow bed and blocked it in front of the bathroom door for about an hour. Then put the cats in the bathroom thinking they would sniff each other. the dog looked at then, but they pretty much ignored each other. Then today I had all of them in the bedroom and sat between them on the floor while keeping her on the leash. The cats just stared at her, but my pup kept trying to jump at them. I feel so bad for them, cause of course this is their house. This evening I thought the cats were in the bedroom, but apparently they were behind the couch. The pup got behind there and one of them swatted at her. she got scared and ran away. I just trimmed the cats nails a few weeks ago, so they didn't hurt her.
no more then 5 minutes after posting this, did Linkin come out of the room into the living and sat on the floor watching the pup play with ther chew toy!!! im so happy! linkin's so brave. the dog didnt notice him thought. but at least its a start!
