when i start my car cold it makes popping sounds and sputters and runs rough from underneath the hood and once the car warms up it stops (takes about 30 seconds) then when i accelerate to pass some one on the highway a beep sounds and the car loses all power until i turn the car off and the back on. this only occurs at high rpm. any help

You can have many different problems with the fuel system, injectors, sensors, computer can be throwing of the timing etc.You will have to bring it to a shop or if you live near a Advanced Auto Store they can hook it up and test it for free. I am sure with that car you will be spending big bucks for any parts. Good Luck

How does one spell "RPM LIMITER"?
There are two different problems here. One may have caused the other. You have the habit of running into the rev limiter of the computer, and maybe even the speed limiter of the car. This shuts down the power, and records an incident in the black box.
Because of the excessive RPM's there may be something else wrong with the engine.
One more reason to drive a Mazda. They are more forgiving, recover quicker and cheaper to repair..
