'91 Ford Explorer Tranny Filter Removal?

There is no spring,just a bolt to hold it on,2 or 4 wheel drive is the difference shape of the filter.Just remove the pan,unbolt the filter,nothing to it.
 
I have a '91 Ford Explorer that needs a tranny filter change and I'm having a hard time finding out how to remove it. The fact that there's extra springs and such on it and stuff that I've never dealt with (from the overdrive and 4 wheel drive) makes me more cautious than usual. Any suggestions? The Haynes manual I have doesn't cover transmission problems, including filter changes.
