Laptops don't have much room inside but a disk is nice and thin. Desktops, on the other hand, have plenty of room. If your sister didn't "lock" the disk down onto the spindle, when the drive started spinning, it probably flung the disk inside the computer. I wouldn't try to get it out of a laptop myself (unless I was planning on buying a new computer anyway). I would try to remove it from a Desktop on a nice, cool, humid day (to avoid the static electricity that would fry parts of the computer). If sis has some $$$, tell her you know what she's going to spend it on.
