Why do ppl who have recently had a baby feel the need to tell other pregnant women who are waiting to deliver, their horror stories of labor? I can handle pretty much everything when it comes to pregnancy and socialization. From the pats on the stomach by strangers to the shouts in the crowd about how big I am to the questions about whether or not its twins or a singleton. But please.. do not go into detail about how horrible your labor was or the fact that you had uterine hemorrhaging with your vbac, or the fact that you got a staph infection from your c section.... or the fact that your labor was just horrible for whatever various reasons. Its not that I don't want to hear your story.. its just.. I need to be able to sleep and rest before my delivery. So why not wait until after I have my baby and then we can compare notes? Am I the only one who is bothered by this?

Is this your first pregnancy? Some who are first time parents are bothered by this. I was never bothered by this. Even before I gave birth to my first it didn't bother me. I found it rather interesting to hear what everyone endured before giving life to such a precious child. I don't think most people tell you their story to horrify you. More than likely they just want to share their experience just because. If you wish not to hear it just simply say so politely. I'm sure who ever is about to start their story can simply understand the anxiety it brings a pregnant woman and since they've been there they can relate.
