A question for all Atheists and Christians bickering on this site...?

I am aware that what I say next will not apply to everybody, but seeing a repeat of the same questions is driving me nuts. Again, this does not apply to everybody, please don't take offence if it doesn't.

Every day there is a question which was clearly put there to insult somebody, followed by a series of childish bickering and reporting. How sad.

Atheists, aren't you supposed to be more intelligent than Christians, as many of you claim?
Yes, we could all do with a break from being warned that we're condemned to hell, but why rise to the bait if it doesn't exist? (I'm not atheist, I'm just not Christian)

And Christians, if you hold you morals so close to your heart with the instructions of forgiveness and love for fellow man, then why the hell can't you show your better morals and stop goading and reacting to the insults?
Instead of driving Atheists to hate you by condemning you (particularly the ones that see Christianity as hateful), why can't you try and show them the love that you say God and Jesus taught you? Even if you think they're ignorant, why lower yourself to that level?

Because at the end of the day it seems to boil down to, "I am better than you," and people getting emotionally hurt.
So if you all seem to hold the opinion your better than the other, why are you all bickering like school children?
 
So in summation you're really just asking "why can't we all just get along?"

Is this a drinking question yet?
 
There is some wisdom in what you say. I should not goad, nor should I allow them to goad me.


But I will continue to tell the truth
 
It's actually called "debate." And I never claimed to be more intelligent than Christians; I claim to be more logical in a certain area. If someone says something stupid to me, I'm going to respond, and I probably won't think they're very smart. If you don't like it, go away.

Atheists aren't supposed be anything. They just have lack of faith in an god(s)

Most users are atheist so I'm assuming most trolls are atheist as well
 
I can only speak for myself, but I never intentionally insult anyone's beliefs or try to personally insult them. I only speak my mind. If some people don't like that, that's their problem.
 
because i'm bored and i don't feel like looking for music of playing a video game and i just finished the book i was reading (Anansi Brothers good book)
 
Mhm this is the internet, sweetheart. Picking on people with low IQs like most of the christians is just for fun.
 
I am Christian.....and I LOVE Atheist too...alot of my friends are Atheist. They choose to believe it, fine. I totally respect what others believe...and i ask the same for me.

Well, part of it is that bickering is fun.

The other part (for me) is that I am utterly amazed that people who claim to follow Christ can be so hateful and that they think they have a right and duty to inflict their beliefs and judgement on me.

I really don't care what other people believe as along as they don't try to force it onto me. Sadly most of us live in countries where Christians still have the power to interfere with the law, politics and education and where it is considered acceptable for them to preach at us in the street.

I just want them to understand that they have no right to push their beliefs into my life.
