A question for mothers only please , if your child was gay?

Society always judges women more harshly than men.
Most lesbians will tell you that they have a harder time in terms of people´s attitudes towards them than gay men do.

So as a mother maybe it´s easier to have a gay son than gay daughter as you (may) see them suffer less.

Huh? I only have daughters, so I would want them to be...girls? I'm confused.

If one of my daughters were gay, I would support her. I would try to do what's best for her, but in the end I would support her 100%. I believe one does not choose to be gay, so why would I penalize my daughter for being who she is? I have raised my girls to be independent and self-confident and I love them and support them no matter what.

Daughter - wouldn't give a damm
Grandson - wouldn't give a damm

So long as they are happy, it really doesn't matter. As a mother/grandmother you will love them whatever.

My friend's son just informed her that he was gay so I've been thinking about this for a couple of days. I have a boy and a girl and honestly if either one of them came up to me and said they were gay, I would be okay with it, I would actually be happy that one, they told me, and two they were that comfortable with themselves to realize it and accept it. I think my only concern would be having grand children, I know that may be selfish, but someday I would love to have more little ones around. So maybe it would be better for my daughter to be gay, because she can still have a child by herself, but on the other hand my son could too, I guess it wouldn't matter to me.

The question kind of confuses me BUT i have two sons and if in the long run they decided thats the person that they were then I would respect that. It is my job as a parent to love, support and nurture my childrens needs, not my own selfish desires for what society would want them to be. I would have the same rules in the house, gay or not...No closed doors, no spending the night and no dates until your 16 haha. I love my boys, I couldnt imagine giving them the impression that I didnt because of who they really were.

Male. As a woman I find it more understandable. I am so heterosexual that I can't possibly imagine being attracted to another woman.
