I bought a smart phone a couple months ago online without a contract because I wished to avoid paying $30.00 extra monthly for a data plan. When my phone downloads data, a 3g icon appears on the upper toolbar and it seems to download tiny bits of information somewhat often. I guessing that it was because of this that I went over last months bill by $20.00. It isn't much but I don't have enough money to be spending extra every month so my question is...
Can I call t-mobile (my cell phone provider) and somehow make it so they can block my phone from downloading information and how would they go about it?
My phone is the Motorola Cliq XT. I really like it but if blocking it from downloading information isn't possible then I might have to sell it.
