last evening!? I still have them in the car. Shelter does not open till tomorrow. Kitty and kitties are doing fine, but what should I be doing, or not be doing?
It happened so quickly, the only reason why I know something was because I heard the little squeal of one of the babies.

aww why are you taking them to the shelter.. well if you have to then make sure its a non-kill one or the mom will prbly be put to sleep. I would keep them until the babies can be seperate from there mom atleast. i would keep atleast one of the kittens if i was you. Just make sure the mom has plenty of food and water . Plus i dont think a car is a very good place for them but i wouldnt risk moving them or the mom might reject them.

I would just try to ensure that momma cat doesn't try to relocate her kittens between now and then.

Be careful about what you say when you take them in to the shelter. Where I live, if you admit to having fed a stray, they tell you that the animal is yours since you fed it and charge you take the animal in. Makes it really hard to do the right thing when strays do show up...
