? need help shortnening the plot of hero and claudio, much ado about nothing, to a few lines
Hero lives with her dad, Leonato, who throws a welcome party for some friends who are home from the war. One of these men is Claudio, a well-respected noble man. There are also the brothers, Don Pedro and Don John, and a joker, Benedick. On arrival Claudio falls in love with Hero instantly. There they pledge their love and agree to marry. Don John decides to ruin everyone’s happiness and gets his companion. Borachio to make love to Margaret (hero’s maid) as a trick, seeing this Claudio believes Margaret is really hero and goes on to accuse her of the treachery and abandons her at the altar. Hero’s family decide to hide her and pretend that she died of shock and grief until she can be proved innocent. The night men over hear Borachio bragging of his trick and soon prove the innocence of Hero. As a punishment Claudio, who believes hero to be dead, is forced to marry Leontes “niece” who looks very similar to Hero. As he grieves for her death he agrees and meets the mysterious masked woman at the altar. When Hero reveals that she is the one under the mask Claudio is overwhelmed with joy and they marry.
