Action replay DS and DSI question?

I have the original DS and a an action replay DSi and I've heard that they are bad devices. Like AR DSi doesnt work on DS. mine works fine but people are saying that the AR DSi are epically fragile and stop working when so much as touched. Is this true?

I know that if i drop it, it's prolly ruined, but if i touch it will it get hurt?
