Hi I'm fixing to buy a new bit for my horse. He's a 12 year old gelding who is well broke. I ride him western and use him for pleasure and trail riding. I'm switching bits because I was narrowing my friends to see how he did in it. He takes well to most all bits but I want a gentle bit that isn't harsh but will also get him to listen when needed. We mostly use leg aides with turning but he can be stuborn at times and I have to use the reins too. I'll be getting a snaffle and I prefer ones with shanks but if you have any other sugestions I'm open to all. thanks so much for your help. He does have a very light mouth so nothing harsh. I was considering a eggbut snaffle or a Fulmer cheek snaffle but i'd like to know what everyone would suggest
