I want to buy a DVD VCR recorder player. I have been researching and find that I need one that will dub VCR to DVD as I want to copy our family VCR tapes to DVD. I also want to use it as a player of both formats and want to record VCR (at least) from the TV so I also need a built in tuner for cable.
Here's my dilema. I have researched for several weeks and am just overwhelmed at the junk that is on the market. I have been reading reviews and it appears that 75%+ of the reviews are very to extermely negative on these machines. Does anyone have experience with a recorder/player that has provided good functionality, good picture quality and good service? I have been looking at $150.00 to $200.00 machines. Do I need to look at higher priced machines to expect better quality and durability? Any help would be appreciated.
