Ok... So you are more than welcome to your opinon. I myself really really like the books, I think that her writing is brilliant. Its aimed at a certain age, you said 15 year old girls, but I know for a fact that my moms friends (ranging from 35-45) have read the books and enjoyed them too. Either you like it or you don't, I feel that it's wrong of you to sit around and slag off a book just becasue you didn't enjoy it. Fine you didnt like it, end of. Some of us did, Im not sitting here telling you how much I enjoyed the books, I only said that I did. I would aporeciate the same courtesy from you. Thanks.

I really like Twilight. Not in the 14 year old obsessed with Edward kind of way but I just thought the books were quite interesting and I also found them quite funny. The thoughts Bella has sometimes are amusing but the book does have a lot of flaws. then again so do a lot of books that people still think are good. I hated the perfection of everybody in the book, it was so frustrating. I also hated the melodramaticness (I don't think thats a word!) of the characters everything was so "omg ahhh were all gonna die" then "oh no we're ok now, uh I love you more than anything in the world..ever.." I felt like telling them to shut up! Another thing that annoys me is the stupid young fan girls who take everything you say about Twilight personally and have screen names like mrs edward cullen. They drive me insane and I think they should get a live. But even though I've mentioned all these flaws in Twilight that annoy me personally I still like the book because it was a good idea,as perfect as the characters are you cant help but like them a bit, some bits were quite funny and it was also quite easy to read. A break from heavy books is nice sometimes! I frankly couldn't give a damn who does and doesnt like it, that doesn't matter to me. Leaving death threats to people who hate it is very immature and ridiculous but making hate sites is a bit sad too! Anyway my point is (after all the rambling!) that I like it but people who don't like it have valid points so uh it doesn't really matter either way coz its down to personal opinion!

Thankyou! I've been going crazy listening to people praise this sorry excuse of a series. No plot, no characterisation, and it's the first book I ever read written by a woman that looked as if the author hated women. Bella is just pathetic, the storyline is pedestrian and makes no sense. I wouldn't even care enough to hate it if I hadn't heard so many girls refer to it as "good literature". Excuse me while I vomit. People need to read the classics.

Um, hey. 15 year old girl here. I feel like I should enjoy this book because, obviously, I am the appropriate age and I enjoy fantasy stories. I also like the idea of a vampire who is really overprotective over an average girl. I have not read the book yet, but my friend has. He is dying to take me to see it on the night it comes out. Whenever I see the trailer for it though, I get this queasy feeling, like my subconscious is trying to warn me not to see it. It is the new craze, and even the dumb cheerleader (no offense) who sits behind me in homeroom raves about it. I am so worried. Personally, I know good literature. I am in APP English, and am a smart girl. I don't really want to see a cliche movie with two kids in love for no reason. So far, I've heard people complain about the repeating, predicatable perfection in the book. Any sensible advice, is it even worth seeing?

Twilight is the worst

I agree with everybody who says that they do not like this book. I have nothing against people who love/obsess over it, but to me, I would never have picked this book up in a million and one years. The plot of the story sounds like something out of a children's book. Vampires? Werewolves? What the heck people? What ever happened to, I don't know, real literature? I do not hate Stephine Myers for creating these books, but to voice my opinion, this is one book that should be demoted, not promoted. I will never, ever read these and nothing anybody says will change my mind.

There are some reasons for liking Twilight.
1) You're below the age of 13 and this is the longest novel you've ever seen, besides Harry Potter.
2) Reluctant reader, never been into reading and never read any classics besides the ones for English class.
3) You have an extremely low IQ.
4) You can a novel and let go of the plot holes and constant repetition.
5) Hopeless romantic with a low IQ.
6) No respect for Bram Stroker.
7) Accept a protagonist with no personality who falls in love a dangerous stalker, just because he's gorgeous doesn't mean he won't kill you. He's done it before.
8) All of the above

from an over the age of 13 point of view, twiligt can be decent when analyzed as a thousand year old peice of literature written by anglosaxons..... edward, as an idealized character is the absolute perfect epic hero a thousand year old woman like stephanie meyer would drool over. so we cant really blame her for trying to realize her dream thru the massive brainwashing of lil kids can we? ^^

Hmmm...

The best thing about this never-ending thread is actually the possibility to compare Twilight fans and critics, as far as education, vocabulary, maturity, manners and general rules of politeness are concerned.

I think we get a pretty acurate profile of the average Twilight reader here.

(Besides the 5 star reviews on amazon and the likes of nuttymadam on youtube)

I have not read Twilight yet, (okay, don't stop reading this after that sentence) and have heard from almost all off my school how dang GREAT this book is. I'm an avid reader, and read almost ALL THE TIME. I really do want to read this book (and the rest of them), but in my opinion (getting WAY of topic with this) Harry Potter Series? Best books ever. Okay, thank you.

O.k. So I admit I am a Twilight fan. However I do agree with some of the things being said. For instance, the books do become repetitive, and these "TwiHards" make me just a little crazy. I think that these fourteen year olds should be spending their time reading other books rather than pensively waiting for the next Stephenie Meyer chronicle to come out, and holding their breath for the movie. With that said however, I myself am going to the movie. Now, I'm not saying it's a horrible book, and who's to blame Ms. Meyer for capitilizing on a teenage girls love of romance, damsels in distress, and vampires. Admittedly, not a very original story line, but good nonetheless. I find Twilight a refreshing change from independent women stories everywhere, and have to bring up the fact that Bella does in fact protect not just herself, but her whole family and set of friends in Breaking Dawn. Alright I'm finished. By the way, Jacob's fate was a lame story twist, it kind of was just like, I don't know what to do with the poor fucked over kid so here let's have him fall in love with her daughter. WTF?

i like the book and i also hate it at the same time because it is hypnotizing. it suggests to love irrationally!

I have to agree with the first person although i must say i enjoyed the fourth book (i found it incredibly ridiculous and laughed the entire way through it). The twilight series honestly reminds me of a fan-fic written by a 13 year-old girl and although there is nothing wrong with that if it was actually written by a 13-year-old, someone who has had any life experience at all really should be able to write a more convincing story with characters that have more depth. Then again perhaps she hasn't had any life experience and that is the reason for twilight being so...for want of a better word crap. I also found the superlatives used to describe edward were rather sickening after a while (i swear she doesn't have a sentence about him that doesn't say perfect, gorgeous or something similar). Liking twilight is fine but all the obssessive fangirls need to remember that a real life is far more enjoyable than living through a book. And guys with flaws are much more interesting than edward cullen would ever be. I mean seriously, eternity with him: yawn.

I agree with you all except the Twilight craze fan.
I feel like the entire story was based of looks rather than anything else.
It's getting to much media for a book that was horribly written.
All of my friends are saying Twilight is the best book ever, I disagree.
They say that Twilight beats Harry Potter. As if. At least Rowling knows how to use a Thesaurus.

None of you except the Milkduds person has any idea of what they are talking about. Twilight is the best book in the history of the world. And no, I am not a 14-year-old girl! It has THE best climax. You people must have been crushed by someone so you don't appreciate romance. Pity, pity. And if that is not you, then this must have been the first book you have ever read, so you have nothing to compare it to. Well let me tell you something. Thing is the best book that has ever been writen, so deal with it. Once again the is the BEST BOOK EVER! I love this book and there is absolutly nothing with it.

Twilight is a plague upon society...

there are hordes of rabid fans who are unjustifiably in love with terrible writing...
Twilight fans need to get an urgent sense of reality about how IDIOTIC this book is...

my god...what is happening...where there are Twilight fans, there will always be people ready to inject some much needed logic into the subject. congrats, and thank you for voicing your opinions.

So some people like the book so what it doesnt mean that people who dont like have to hate them and like get all psycho about it! We should all be more mature then this by now. If your the age of 12- 15 then you might think that one day that may happen to you, but for the people over 16 may see it differently cuz we already know better by now. But we should also let people use their imagination while they still got it, if your older then 20 and have already read the book and you like it then you shouldn't hate people who don't like it and get all mad about it, so what PEOPLE HAVE DIFFERENT POINTS OF VIEWS I've read some of these comments and noticed no one have mentioned this and I think that this is one of the most important points for these arguments. Also if you hate the book and haven't read it yet you shouldn't judge it, that makes no sense to do that so that makes you biased until you read it and make a choice. And for people that left their friends because they either liked/disliked the book your just being a horrible friend, your friends don't have to like the same things you like they have different interests and so do you. If your friends talk about the book thats fine just start talking about a new topic to get their minds off it, You shouldn't leave them like that, it only shows that you were the bad friend not them just for liking a book. OH and hello to all those crazy fans of the book guess what its FICTION and if you don't know what that means, ITS NOT REAL! there's no point in arguing some thats fictional who cares. IF U DONT LIKLE THE BOOK KEEP IT TO YOURSELF AND IF YOU DO LIKE THE BOOK KEEP IT TO YOUR SELF AS WELL, SO THAT NO ARGUMENTS WILL OCCUR!!

oh and guess what im only 14 and really, and im more mature then this COME ON!

I read them a long time ago and enjoyed them... until people started going like crazy scary psycho about them. Like wearing "Edward Fan Club" shirts and dressing up and, in some actualy cases at my school, pretending and believing they were vampires... Sadistic shit like that... Really? It's a book. And now will be a movie that will surely ruin the books for me. If you want an amazing fantasy series, read A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin. HE is a talented writer.

Wow. Nope, gotta say I've never been crushed romantically by anyone...I've read thousands of decent books...aaand...I still hate Twilight! Isn't that funny? Perhaps it's because I have read real literature that I don't like it. Don't get me wrong--it's a cute little book for girls to read and 'kwee' over, but...let's call it a Twinkie. Every once in a while you crave one, but it does NOT count as fine dining. (Unless you have...issues. Same as the way people who consider Twilight to be fine literature have issues. Do you see these great parallels I'm drawing here?) And to claim that ANY book is the 'best book in the history of the world' and actually mean that...is about the most subjective thing I've ever heard. We're all entitled to an opinion--we're not telling people not to like Twilight, we're just saying that we don't. And hey, if you're annoyed by us saying we don't like Twilight...you can't possibly imagine how annoying it is to hear you gush about it. :)

P.S. Romance? Right. In the same way Romeo and Juliet had romance. You mean lust, right? Shee-eesh.
