I feel that the end of the "bad" cycle is nearing, with the badness peaking in a few years and then it will start to get better, as we go into the new cycle mentioned by the Mayans...
We are experiencing many revolutions...people are tired of the old, dictator ways of things being done, and so, they are pushing for more democracy, or something styled in that manner.
Once we get rid of those who try to control the masses, we will be a lot better off, since we will then be controlling ourselves, with a chosen govenment to do as WE ask them to do.
The current real problem today is North Korea, it will not give in easily, and will probably start a war, leading China into it as an allie...and the world will be in for a long, hard terrible fight...but we will win in the end, and the world will then settle into a more peaceful and pleasant way of life.
As for gas prices....in 1960, the price was 32 cents a gallon...wages were 75 cents to 1 dollar an hour. Figure gas price to wage back then... about one third.
$3 a gallon, $9 wages... about the same. Gas just hasn't kept up with the cost of living, and so now, when it is up there, people complain. But they still own their big 4X4 trucks and campers and boats...etc.... They still go to high priced games, where the players make a fortune...and this is for all games, football, basketball, baseball, etc... so how can we really be that bad off? As for unemployment...at least here where I live.... the department stores are empty of employees...no one around to wait on customers.....so why isn't anyone wanting to work? Too many hand outs by the government, that's why.
If we were really as bad off economically as they say, people would be working everywhere, there would be not jobs available because of all the positions being filled, and the wages could be low, but people wouldn't care, they would work anyway....
It might get to that point, but for now... they can still afford to go to the ball games..
