I remember I was arguing with a feminist online about something, and I was talking about my gym schedule. She then called me "unintelligent" because I go to the gym. Apparently she believes in the media stereotype that people who exercise must be stupid meatheads.

On a separate occasion, I was arguing with a feminist, and she was talking about how women are "oppressed" in the media as far as their weight & figures go. How only "skinny" women are represented as beauty. She tried to say that the normal weight for a woman that's 5'4" is around 153lbs. I told her this was wrong, and that a woman that height should be in the 130's, and maybe 140 max -- according to the Body Mass Index.

So two questions -- does this tend to reflect how ignorant we are in America about being healthy & fit? That we ridicule people for going to the gym, and believe that 153lbs is the ideal weight for a 5'4" woman? Here's the thing, both of these feminist women I argued with weren't necessarily dummies. They appeared educated at a collegiate level. But when it came to fitness, they were dumb & ignorant as rocks. And I was willing to bet that both of these women were overweight.

And does it reflect many feminists views towards staying in shape? Not trying to be mean, but many feminists are overweight.
heather: Poor logic & reasoning skills on your part. Overweigh problems amongst feminists appear to be higher than the general populations (among men or women).
