I was wondering if there was a website besides yahoo groups to find people that are looking to hang out, with simular interests, but not a dating website
 
You can try http://www.chatango.com/ or http://meebo.com/ . They really help a lot. Just be careful in chatango, there are a lot of weird people. Meebo, meanwhile, is totally safe. :)
