...should believe?
Besides on here.
@ Anthony: Was that not on your computer?
It's funny, because I have read the bible and that's just another way to fortify my atheism.

yes and then i said hey god, the tooth fairy, santa claus, and a hobo saw five dollars in the street who picked it up? the hobo, the others don't exist

Not really but when I was in school I was forced to pray. That pissed me off to no end.

Yes... the most common problem I have is anytime I mention being an atheist, they invite me to church, or beg me to read the Bible

Some of them just can't understand that I'm an atheist because I simply don't believe, not because I just don't know any better, because I've never been to church

Yes. I was supposed to be enjoying the one spa day I take each year and I got a religious zealot for a pedicurist. I didn't say one word about religion until she asked me where I went to church. I was honest and told her I am an atheist so I don't belong to a church. She wasn't so nice to me after that and did a horrible job on my toes.

I have had a number of christians try to preach to me when I have been out by myself (they don't have the courage to approach larger groups).
Each time I have just ignored them (I kept my mouth shut), and each time they have responded with a string of expletives.
This is the 'ideal' they are preaching.

Nope, at least not in real life.

However I did have a Mormon missionary get mad and yell at me because I didn't want to stop and listen to his proselytizing. But hey, I was on my bike and had headphones on. He should've noticed that I was occupied.

i'm not an Atheists i just have my own beliefs..with that said, a group of christian kids came up to me when i was smoking a cig and relaxing and i decided to give them a lil taste of the obvious dumb points in their arguments. long story short, they gave up and one of them asked me for a cig, which was ironic to me bc the whole time they were ranting about how i should be taking care of myself and soul...so i said no you hypocrite and left

"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?" Epicurus [341–270 B.C.]

Of course not. No one can rant at me, without my permission.

If their god did exist, they wouldn't be committed to the faith he's there. It would be an irrefutable fact god exists. Because faith precludes fact.

Christians having to rant at someone to get them to believe as they do, is simply proof of their own insecurity. They're afraid to live in a world wherein people don't believe as they do. They can't even find peace in holding faith in "one"god and "one" Christ, amongst themselves, as is testified to by sectarianism.

No, I don't listen to a Christian rant at me about what I should believe. I shut them down with a quickness, if they try. "If your god did exist as a supreme being, that would mean he's superior in consciousness to the lesser consciousness that is human and as such, if that god was omni-benevolent (infinitely kind) it would then be incumbent upon that omniscient (all knowing), omnipresent (everywhere always), omnipotent (all powerful) being to believe in me."

And then I smile indulgently and walk away. See, if there was a god no religion could contain him, and he wouldn't need to be worshiped by faithful who attest to his being the only god in existence, because as such he'd know that, being omniscient.

Humans create god in their image and likeness. You can tell that when they try to sell him door to door, as if there's this good news that god exists. When, if he did, we wouldn't need fellow humans to promise us it's true if we just take it on faith. We'd know it for a fact because that what exists would leave no doubt.
I don't have faith there are tree's.

No, but I sure always have to hear the atheists tell me what I shouldn't believe.

There are people who do not necessarily rant...

Generally, they speak condescendingly and deny you the right to your own beliefs, by telling you what you believe, and that you're in denial, lost, etc..
They pray for you, which on the surface is a nice gesture, but again, it is condescending...if a person felt that prayer did any good, they could pray for themselves.

Oh my goodness, yes, darling...that seems to be one of the planned activities at family get-togethers - the more fanatical and foam-flecked of my aunts and cousins gang up on me and tell me what I should believe.

I've had strangers do it, too, but for me, it's mostly been family.

When the offspring (who is 15) was flying back home from a trip, he sat next to a nun who went off on him, pretty rudely, about how he should believe in her god and become a Christian and give up his sinful life and repent of his sins.

He listened patiently and then gave her $20 and told her to go buy herself a science textbook.

Yeah this one lady sat with me randomly at Starbucks and was saying "Jesus loves you" over and over, and she kept trying to persuade me to come to her church. Funniest part was that she started saying those things and i never told her i was an atheist. No clue why she kept babbling on about it, maybe she could smell the "immoral heathen" blood. Then a guy I did tell I was an atheist too rambled on and on about how "god jump started the big bang" I'm surprised he didn't say we should love and appreciate the beauty of black holes.

No. I can always walk away from that nonsense in my country. Thank the very non-existent gods!
