Atheists, how were you saved from the cold grasp of religion?

Friends, family, exploration?
Why thank you for asking, Laptop Jesus. I was on a retreat for confirmation and everyone started crying over Jesus' death. After that I decided to actually read the bible without anyone telling me their interpretation. I laughed at how ridiculous it was for hours.

Fortunately as a child I was not forced into any belief system. as a free thinking adult I made up my own mind.

I've been an atheist as long as I can remember. I remember going to church as a kid, but thinking it was all just silly and didnt make sense. As I got older I started learning about evolution, and it just made so much more sense than religion. I dont think i've ever considered creation as a valid theory.
