John Galt: You are all individuals, being an individual looking after your own individual needs first and foremost is good. Greed is good. Altruism is bad. I am John Galt, I am an individual. I will never ask another man or woman to live for me and neither should you.

Now go quit your job; get a new job, the crummiest lowest paying job that you can find. The EVILLL socialist government is stopping you from being productive so stick it to them by being even less productive! This will cause their civilisation to collapse and from the ashes we will built my new Utopia. Many, many people will undoubtedly die. Don’t worry they’re just looters, socialists and undesirables and don’t deserve to live anyway. Most of the wealth and possessions that you own will be destroyed or rendered useless because this philosophy can only work if everyone starts off on an equal footing (This is totally not a form for wealth re-distribution. wealth distribution is a socialist thing! And socialists are Evil with a capitol E!).

If you are rational individual you will agree with my proposed scheme and freely choose to go along with it. If you do not agree with it you are an Evil communist/ socialist/looter/strawman and will perish in the upcoming apocalypse.

The people of America: Horrah for Galt! Let’s blindly follow his instructions

Civilisation collapses

John Galt: I’m ready to build my super-duper utopia now.

The End

2000 + years of life on earth with an Altruistic philosophical base. Where has that gotten us? What has been achieved? Is there NO poor, hungry, war, the answer is NO. You mock the Objectivist philosophy but offer no alternative but to continue on the road we are on. This shows brilliance, NO.

You and others speak of Capitalism as if it’s EVIL however what we have today is not Capitalism but a mixed economy brought on by Altruists.

Not to be like you and others I have a solution…Objectivism as the philosophical base with true Capitalism is the solution to the world’s problems.

Now to show how the likes of you Altruists have gotten us here ---------------------

“For twelve years, you have been asking: Who is John Galt? This is John Galt speaking. I am the man who loves his life. I am the man who does not sacrifice his love or his values. I am the man who has deprived you of victims and thus has destroyed your world, and if you wish to know why you are perishing-you who dread knowledge-I am the man who will now tell you…”

You have heard it said that this is an age of moral crisis. You have said it yourself, half in fear, half in hope that the words had no meaning. You have cried that man’s sins are destroying the world and you have cursed human nature for its unwillingness to practice the virtues you demanded. Since virtue, to you, consists of sacrifice, you have demanded more sacrifices at every successive disaster. In the name of a return to morality, you have sacrificed all those evils which you held as the cause of your plight. You have sacrificed justice to mercy. You have sacrificed independence to unity. You have sacrificed reason to faith. You have sacrificed wealth to need. You have sacrificed self-esteem to self-denial. You have sacrificed happiness to duty.

You have destroyed all that which you held to be evil and achieved all that which you held to be good. Why, then, do you shrink in horror from the sight of the world around you? That world is not the product of your sins, it is the product and the image of your virtues. It is your moral ideal brought into reality in its full and final perfection. You have fought for it, you have dreamed of it, and you have wished it, and I-I am the man who has granted you your wish.”

Atlas Shrugged – Ayn Rand

Pretty much. Ayn Rand is a f*cking psychopath and it irritates me to no end her effed up worldview and materialistic ideology like, made her money? With a book like "Atlas Shrugged," no less. Please, people, high schools, colleges of the world. Go read something worthwhile. Like Voltaire.

if you dont allow people to get rich there is no reason to try keeping .30 of every dollar the business person wont get out of bed.

Capitalism would be a utopia if everyone had a single person shop and only those people with useful ideas and abilities were allowed to live there.

It is always easier to be against the current economy rather than come up with a real alternative.

Ayn Rand was a terrible person with a terrible "philosophy." Her philosophy is a perverted view of Nietzsche (sort of like what Nazism is). To think that Ron Paul and other republicans actually see Ayn Rand as an inspiration is appalling.

you know, after reading Atlas Shrugged, I finally realized how much I oppress the Rich minority of the country & will willingly pay more taxes so they can pay less & continue to use my hard earned money to bail out their failed but brilliant business endeavors & thus fight the tyranny of democratic equality
