How are black foreigners viewed - esp with very dark skin and afro-textured hair? (I'm quite dark.) Maybe some cities are easier than others?
I'm doing lots of research about the country prior to my trip. I'll be wearing long sleeves, long skirts and loose fitting clothes.
I don't speak loudly, nor do I approach men I don't know except in bureaucratic situations. When photographing, I take pictures of buildings and objects- really not comfortable taking picts of people I don't know. (I've been told in the past that the above are the 'ugly American' reasons we have bad experiences.)
Any other tips?
