blue ray player at auto resolution?

i have a samsung blue ray player connected to samsung pn42c450 720p plasma.the plasma is entry level tv so should i let blue ray player decide resolution.the options are auto, 1080p, 1080i , 720p etc.also picture settings for tv would be great, thanks

Set the blu ray disc player to "Auto". The tv will only display the source it put resolution up to it's rated resolution. This way you do not have to keep resetting the player even if you get a new 1080P tv. Hope this will help you out.
