BLUERAY PLAYER!!! HELP!! Need The Quickest answer!!!?

I rented a movie at the video store and I got blueray on accident, I have a blueray player but its in are basement and it annoying. So my question is, that are Blueray players only play (BlueRay) or does it play both. If I have a regular movie player can it play a Blueray????? That are my questions and I need them answered very fast, like now!!!! PLEASE ANSWER!!!
 
Blu-Ray players can play Blu-Rays, DVDs, and CDs.

DVD players can play only DVDs and CDs
