BMW puttering and losing acceleration and power...?

I have a 1992 BMW 325is, I've had a number of problems with the engine over the last 6 years. I've replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter twice, catalytic converter & O2 sensor twice. My car started puttering and losing power while accelerating a few days ago, first it was here and there, now its more prominent and almost impossible to drive, especially up any kind of incline.

What would be the most probable cause? Spark? Fuel Pump?

I just want to know where I should start, ...no check engine light for anything beside 'washer fluid low' lol.

BMWs are high performance cars which means they need to be tuned every so often. Take it to your local BMW mechanic and have it serviced and have them troubleshoot it if the Inspection II does not fix the problem. I would not take it to your local dealership, it will cost you around $700 to have it done. You can probably find a local guy that is certified to work on them. It is a great car and a great engine that should not give any problems if you take care of it. I would look at needing about $1000 if they inspection does not fix the problem(s). Good luck and happy motoring!

Add: BTW I think it is a misfire in one or more cylinders. But I am not a mechanic so have it checked out.
