The decline of boxing over the years is stagnant, and the increasing popularity of UFC isn't helping. Can this process be reversible, or will professional boxing as we know it be done within 20 years?

Well these days it all about the Media. UFC has made it possible for wide range of people to access fights like Spike TV and now Facebook. Boxing keeps it on HBO or PPV. UFC is new sport and its more exciting because there is so many way to end the fights as compare to boring fights for 12 rounds. I been watching boxing since 7 or 8 but once UFC came along i had to switch. I mean come on you have boxer (mayweather) doging fights and one of the best fights (pacman vs mosely) was jus 12 rounds of dancing

MMA is fading....The cards are not as good. After Brock lost I stopped watching.

honestly....have you seen MMA fans?'

buncha overprivelidged white kids that don't know how to act in public.

far as i'm concerned, i'm glad they ain't showing up at boxing matches

No way would the sport of boxing ever die. It's been with us for centuries and it is here to stay. Like any other sport, it goes through low points for various reasons, e.g. dearth of talented and exciting fighters, politics, etc. But it would soon have its revival in no time at all. On the other hand, MMA/UFC is relatively new and offers something different so it's quite popular these days. But believe me, it's just a fad that would soon die down. Boxing is more established and has a rich history of great fights and great fighters.
