If ever you met me (Occasionally)

I was not deliberately
spacey and
or
not really there

but my own thoughts
occupied any attention
that would have been reserved
for society and such
to include simple politeness

so yeah
hygiene was of course
occasionally an issue

maybe it was
a form of passive aggression
some sort of
defensive coping mechanism
if you like

because personal space
was not invaded nearly so often
and bad breath with matted hair
put many at arms length

but I was seer
in those lonely moments
as I recall

and terrible to the marrow
I could trump any
bad to the bone boy

dirty clothes was the anti-thesis
rebuttal to the impulse
of urban conformity

they could not be my friends anyway
I knew
because they were too busy protecting
their own fragile image

projecting a reflection
of some desired perception
it was their hologram camouflage
self serving hallow sham
ego mirage

I suppose if you had to call me
something
you might have said

I was occasionally

a poet

but probably would not have known it
if you ever you met me
