I've been bulimic for about a year and a half give or take a few months and I was wonder if there was a way to tell if I've lost my tooth enamel without going to a dentist or doctor. Also how long, or how many purges it takes for the acid to burn the enamel off...If you can even put a number to that. I heard somewhere that the damage to the tongue and other parts of my mouth (not my teeth, obviously) will mend itself, is this true? If so, about how long will that take? Please and thank you.
I am going to visit a dentist but I was just wondering if I could save myself the embarrassment of telling him/her of my illness.
I know bulimia is a horrible disorder and a terrible thing to do to my body so please, save your breath.
If you could just answer these questions it would be very helpful and much appreciated.
