first of all, you playing back the DVD with PC or DVD-player? you burn a DVD-video format?

the problem can be only from the decoder. when you run the file from your PC its fine? try to install GOM player, its free :

http://gom-player.en.softonic.com/

And for Divx in general, you better to get a video converter and convert it first before burn it because from computer to computer the divx decoder is different, anyways i always copy divx to DVD as a data because my sony DVD-player can play back so i don't need to burn as DVD-video format...
