can 2 people use bittorrent to transfer a file that i'm downloading to...

...him as i'm downloading it? So me and my friend are downloading the same game using bittorrent. (we both have slow internet) but i'm 40% ahead of him. is it possible to use bit torrent to upload my data to him as I download. we know each other ips. this would be cool and much faster if this works. thanks. looking for options in bit torrent
 
No you cant transfer the file directly to your buddy if thats what you are asking.
This is how it works --- The BitTorrent protocol can be used to reduce the server and network impact of distributing large files. Rather than downloading a file from a single source server, the BitTorrent protocol allows users to join a "swarm" of hosts to download and upload from each other simultaneously
