Can a TV play DVD+RW or DVD-RW disks?

I just burned a movie - for history day - on my a DVD+RW, but my tv's dvd player wont play it. It keeps saying incorrect disk. I need this for tomorrow morning!!! I already finalized the movie, so what can i do? Does it have to be -RW???
 
it should play on a computer but i think to use with dvd player you need Nero or something like that
