Can a video game disk (PS3 blueray) still work if the top of the disk is

very lightly scratched? so i have God of War III and i noticed that the top of the disk is very lightly scratched and i was wondering if the top holds data that the game needs to run properly? Thanks a lot! Please help!!!
I also have been playing the game and im pretty sure im about 40 percent done with the game and no interuptions.
 
Yes. Disks are surprisingly, pretty hardy. There'd only be problems if the scratch was fairly deep.

I have heard that the blu ray discs have a protective coating to protect it from scratches. It's probably just the coating, don't worry I have a few scratched PS3 games, runs great.
 
If you can see through the cd, then no it won't be playable. The laser reads the information that is stored under the artwork, so if the artwork is scratched away where the laser will poke through the top, then it won't work and its not fixable.
