Rome: Total War & Rome: Total War Barbarian Invavsion
Need for Speed Most Wanted & Need for Speed Most Wanted Black
SIMS3 & SIMS 3 Gold
Need for Speed Carbon & Need for Speed Gold Edition
Hitman Blood Money & Hitman Blood Money v2 Deluxe Edition

What does the name Gold Edition, Barbarian Edition & Black Edition stand for...?
I have also found out that Need for Speed Most Wanted Black is more expensive than Need for Speed Most Wanted

And

Rome: Total War Barbarian Invasion is more expensive than Rome: Total War
 
Gold, Deluxe, Limited and Special editions of anythign usually contain additional in-built features.
For a game these may be additional levels, characters, cars, money etc. etc.
I think these additions of the above game would cost slightly more but they would come with a few extra bonus features. Apart from that there is not much other differences.
