Can i access my home broadband internet connection on my mobile?

I have a LG Optimus GT540. I would like to know how do i access the internet from home using my mobile. I have a home broadband internet connection. In the settings it asks for network SSID, where do i find this? I need a connection from my phone for a program off the Android marketplace.
 
Do you have wireless? Does your phone have wireless capabilities?
