Can I back up ps2 hdd games to PC?

I have a PS2 with a HDD and want to back up the hard disc to a PC. I've used WinHiip in the past but this means dismantling the PC to get the IDE cables out. Can I use the network connection to the (unchipped) PS2 to gain access?
