Can I Get Wireless Internet When I Only Have Normal Plug In Internet?

I have normal internet (The kind you plug in to the wall), is there a way to get wireless without changing my internet type?
Like something that I can plug into my internet wall socket that I can then pick up using something else, a laptop with wireless capabilities for example?

"Normal internet"? As in cable, or a dial-up connection?

Getting a router that works with dial-up is a huge problem now.

If you have cable or DSL, you can hook up a wireless router pretty easily.

Other places you might find a good deal on wireless routers would be tigerdirect.com and newegg.com. Tiger's shipping is pretty fast, too.
