Can i hook a car sub up too a home theater amp?

Hey Guys
Im trying to make a cheap as possible home theater system to hook my ipod up too.
Ive been looking at car subs becuase they are really cheap. Would there be anyway to hook these up to a home theater amp? Im really clueless about this sort of stuff but ive been looking at 12" plus subs with 600+ Watt. What should i do?

So if i had a 1200Watt sub and had a 1200watt amp could i hook any other speakers up or would it blow my amp?

yes you could but get a woofer that will match the watts on your amp. good luck bro

Just be sure that the speaker impedance is at least 4 ohms, and that the wattage rating is higher than the peak output of the amp, and you should be fine.
